How we do it
Financial innovation
Because communities lack access to capital, community equity ownership requires financial instruments designed specifically for that purpose. Catalytic capital plays a critical role where public funding is absent. Our Community Equity Opportunity Fund aims to mobilize capital to provide targeted financing at each stage of the project life cycle, enabling community equity participation.
Project development
We work alongside communities and energy companies to identify and develop renewable energy projects on community land, from pre-feasibility through project design, permitting and contracting. As co-developers, we structure the business and the community's equity stake on market terms, ensuring full transparency on financial, legal, technical, and governance matters, and putting protections in place against the main financial and dilution risks.
Advisory services
We advise energy companies, project developers, communities, and government and multilateral bodies seeking to implement community equity ownership models across their project portfolios. We can reach equity agreements, model community equity and structure the financial transaction needed to make it happen.
