Communities as equity partners in renewable energy projects.

Español

Structuring business partnerships where low-income rural communities are shareholders in utility-scale renewable energy projects.

We believe in an energy transition that includes communities not just as beneficiaries but as active partners in the development of renewable energy projects.

PROJECT

ANTÚ 1 - 18 MW Solar PV Farm

An unprecedented partnership with the Millaqueo mapuche community and Sustentar Energía S.R.L.

In the heart of Argentina’s Patagonia, we are developing the country’s first-ever renewable energy project that brings together an indigenous community, project developers and investors as equity partners.

Community leaders visit neighbouring solar project “El Alamito".

The Millaqueo community is a shareholder in ANTU 1.

“This project is a turning point for our community.”

Patricio Zapata, President of Cla Nehuen Antu and former Lonko of the Millaqueo Mapuche community.

Our Approach

We co-develop our projects with local communities.

Our philosophy, informed by decades of experience of complex project development in emerging markets, is built on a simple premise: involving communities as owners in renewable energy projects from the outset leads to better outcomes for the project, developers, investors, and the community.

Our model emphasises transparent partnerships, shared ownership, and market-based performance. We follow the principle of free, prior and informed consent throughout the project cycle. We design and develop the project shoulder-to-shoulder with our community partners and their equity share is calculated based on their capital contributions.
